The following article helps you better understand the legal issues related to this type of visa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Legal Basics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consolidated document No. 27\/VBHN-VPQH on entry, exit, and transit of residents outside Vietnam (including Law No. 47\/2014\/QH13 and Law No. 51\/2019\/QH14).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Law No. 31\/2015\/TT-BCA, dated July 6, 2015, of the Ministry of Public Security guiding contents on visa issuance, temporary residence card issuance, entry and exit permit, settlement of permanent residence for foreigners in Vietnam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Law No. 04\/2015\/TT-BCA dated January 5, 2015, of the Ministry of Public Security, stipulates the form of documents related to the entry, exit, and residence of foreigners in Vietnam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Decision No. 5551\/QD-BCA-V19 dated September 25, 2015, promulgates a set of administrative procedures handled by the Ministry of Public Security.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">What is VR Visa?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_55\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-55\" style=\"width: 748px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bistax.vn\/eng\/conditions-for-foreigners-to-apply-for-a-vr-visa-vietnam-family-visa\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-55 size-full\" title=\"Visa VR - Vietnam family visa\" src=\"https:\/\/bistax.vn\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Vietnam-family-visa.jpg\" alt=\"Visa VR - Vietnam family visa\" width=\"748\" height=\"392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bistax.vn\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Vietnam-family-visa.jpg 748w, https:\/\/bistax.vn\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Vietnam-family-visa-300x157.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 748px) 100vw, 748px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-55\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Visa VR &#8211; Vietnam family visa<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the provisions of Clause 19, Article 8 of Law No. 27\/VBHN-VPQH, VR Vietnam Visa is a type of visa that grants to foreigners entering Vietnam to visit their relatives here including parents, grandparents, and spouses, children,&#8230;or for some other visiting purposes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foreigners entering Vietnam to visit relatives must prove their relationships with the invited or guaranteed persons by giving out legal documents such as marriage certificates, household registration, or equivalent legal document.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Conditions for foreigners who want to apply for a VR visa<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To apply for a VR visa, you need to meet the conditions specified in Articles 10 and 21 of the Consolidated Document, Law No. 27\/VBHN-VPQH, specifically:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2192 Own a valid passport or international travel documents with an appropriate validity period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2192 Have sponsored enterprises, organizations, or individuals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2192Have documents proving the personal relationship with the sponsor or documents proving the purpose of entry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2192 Except for the following cases:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forging documents, giving false statements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Suffering from mental illnesses or infectious diseases can put Public Health in danger.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deported from Vietnam<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forced to exit Vietnam<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Disease prevention and control issues<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Natural disasters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National defense, security, social order, and safety issues<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>VR visa (Private affairs), and TT visa (Visit relatives) are different depending on travelers\u2019 purposes on arrival.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><b>VR visa (Private Affairs) type:<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Who can be granted for VR visa (Private affairs) type?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having a valid passport or international documents<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having a sponsoring\/inviting company or agency, or organization, or individual in Vietnam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Travelers who are legally allowed to enter Vietnam according to the law on entry and exit including parents and children above 18 years old.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Maximum visa validity: 6 months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-TRC is not available to process.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><b>TT Visa (Relatives Visit) type:\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><b>Who can be granted for TT visa (Relatives visit) type?<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parents, spouses, or children of Vietnamese citizens;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foreigners\u2019 spouses or children under 18 years old can be issued with LV1, LV2, LS, DT1, DT2, DT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LD1, or LD2 visas types.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>TT Visa type includes:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LV1 visa type\u2013 Issued to experts who work with units affiliated with the government, the People\u2019s Supreme Court,\u00a0 Vietnam\u2019s Communist Party; the National Assembly, Governmental agencies, the People\u2019s Councils, the People\u2019s Committees of provinces, and so on.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LV2 visa type\u2013 Issued to whom works with socio-political organizations, social organizations, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, and Industry.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LS visa type\u2013 issued to foreign lawyers practicing in Vietnam<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DT1 visa type\u2013 Issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam and contributing capital of VND 100 billion or more or investing in business lines benefitting from investment incentives, in administrative divisions benefitting from investment incentives decided by the Government.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DT2 visa type \u2013 Issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam and contributing capital of VND 50 billion to less than VND 100 billion or investing in business lines benefitting from investment incentives treatment decided by the Government.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DT3 visa type \u2013 Issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam and contributing capital of VND 3 billion to less than VND 50 billion.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NN1 visa type \u2013 Issued to Managers of representative offices or projects of international organizations and foreign non-governmental organizations in Vietnam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NN2 visa type\u2013 Issued to heads of representative offices, branches of foreign traders, and representative offices of other foreign economic, cultural, and professional organizations in Vietnam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DH visa type \u2013 Issued to whom travels to Vietnam to study or serve an internship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PV1 visa type \u2013 Issued to permanent journalists in Vietnam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LD1 visa type \u2013 Issued to foreigners working in Vietnam and certified of eligibility for work permit exemption, unless otherwise specified by international agreements to which Vietnam is a signatory.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LD2 visa type\u2013 Issued to foreigners working in Vietnam with work permits.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>-Maximum visa validity: 12 months.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>-TRC is issued no longer than 3 years.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After considering two types of visas, you can easily figure out the difference between VR visa, and TT visa types. VR visa allows a larger number of people but the duration of stay in Vietnam is shorter. By contracts, the TT visa type required smaller groups of people but the duration of stay in Vietnam is longer. Therefore, sponsors are asked to fully understand the needs of the foreigner, and make appropriate explanations to choose the right type of visa.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b> Required documents to apply for a VR visa at the Immigration Department<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Documents include:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2666 Visa application form in Circular No. 04\/2015\/TT-BCA:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/u\/0\/d\/1YWPuGzbI1N6TsdqzIvRUl2fCSuZFF4hp\/edit\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Form NA2<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for sponsored enterprises\/organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/u\/0\/d\/19fRHZb74YpmlhjsrAYrF2nSirhBKk9j_\/edit\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Form NA3<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for an individual sponsor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2666 Copies of legal documents:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; ID\/CCCD\/personal passport of sponsors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Certificate of business registration of an enterprise\/organization together with a copy of the certificate of exemption from work permit\/work permit of the sponsoring foreigner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2666 A notarized copy of the certificate of family relationship\/marriage certificate of sponsor and foreigner. Documents need to be translated, consular legalized, and notarized before handing in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2666 Copies of passports of foreigners;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Receiving agency: Provincial Immigration Department or Immigration Department &#8211; Ministry of Public Security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Processing time<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: 05 working days from the date of receiving the application.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, foreigners entering Vietnam under the family visit category are not prioritized.
